YourKindaTV anchorman Simon Jones said: “The BUGAS are the perfect antidote to all those boring film and TV awards programmes which usually feature the same old shows and the same old faces. The media today is well and truly in the hands of us, the people – and so are The BUGAS, which are there for everyone and anyone who wants to have their 15 minutes, or more, of fame.”
Irreverent, outrageous and a tad controversial, YourKindaTV features a daily five to seven minute studio production of topical banter, reckless opinion and other totally off the wall features which examine life from every possible perspective.
Jointly hosted by vlog anchors Simon Jones and Layla Anna-Lee, the show provides coverage and opinion of the day’s events, together with quirky video features which have been sent in by the public.
The features are structured so that they can be easily submitted by viewers and are accompanied by an online forum where users can discuss an issue.
The show segments include:
News Headlines: a run down of the interesting headlines of the day
Gossip and chat: discussion on the most relevant topic of the day /week
Feature 1: changing schedule, user submitted or random
Sport: results round-up, gossip and opinion
Feature 2: changing weekly schedule including Tuesdays: Location report; Thursdays: Therapy and Fridays: Leisure and entertainment
Chat: including events and interviews
The producer of the daily show is YourKindaTV co-founder Michael Oxley.
Your KindaTV - Vlog Anchors
Simon Jones
Simon first began performing at Northwood School in Middlesex and went on to achieve qualifications in Drama, Theatre Studies and Performing Arts at the University of Suffolk. Following in the footsteps of Shane Richie and Brian Connelly, Simon had his first taste of live TV as a Bluecoat presenter on Pontins Television. After three seasons of Pontins, Simon took off to Lanzarote where he learnt the art of live cabaret in his job as nightclub host in one of the island’s most prestigious resorts. On his return to the UK, Simon and a old friend from his Bluecoat days came together to form a harmony duo "Dot Combo," and went on to perform in clubs and holiday resorts in England and Wales.
Layla Anna-Lee
Before joining YKTV, Layla presented Second Sight, a live Sky TV show in which she interviewed and tested medium clairvoyants. Trained at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, Layla is also an experienced dancer, which, when combined with her Brazilian blood, means this girl loves hitting the Brazilian style samba bars around London to Lambada the night away. A self-confessed horror film addict, Layla recently starred as the lead in the horror flick, Hacked Off and likes nothing more than chilling out with friends and scaring herself rigid watching horror classics. Layla's other passion is Urban Exploration, an off-beat hobby where people enter and photograph abandoned buildings. She is currently mapping out an old Asylum that a group of her and her friends explore.
