The World’s Smallest & Scariest Premiere

Revolver Entertainment Premiere’s Most Terrifying Ghost Story at Yorkshire Haunted House

Tonight (Wednesday, 5th September 2012) sees the world’s smallest, and scariest premiere screening, of Pat Holden’s WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT at an actual haunted house in Yorkshire! The film based on the real life ghost story, about a poltergeist that haunted a Pontefract family in the 70’s, stars Kate Ashfield and Steven Waddington and Gary Lewis.

To mark the release of the British horror flick, Revolver Entertainment teamed up with LoveFilm to give two film fans a chance to watch the film… in the actual haunted house, where the paranormal activities took place!

With over 1,000 entries from film fans to watch the film in Pontefract, the competition was a huge hit, and one of the biggest responses ever for LoveFILM.

The competition winners, from Sheffield, Paul Buck, 32 and best friend, Chris Oxley, 36, will be ushered down the red carpet alongside members of the cast, and hosted by TV presenter & former editor of HEAT magazine, Sam Delaney. Just before entering the 1940s semi-detached council house in Pontefract, to watch the film alone, the winners will be presented with a 200-year-old wooden chest, otherwise considered a ‘Poltergeist Survival Kit’. The box will contain an ancient bible, several crucifixes, holy water and garlic…!

As extreme horror fans, looking for the ultimate horror film experience, both Paul and Chris will not be disappointed with the house lit by red floodlights wrapped and in smoke, for full atmospheric effect, and an eerie presence in the house. Revolver Entertainment will also be filming the winners, as they watch the film, to capture their reactions and any possible poltergeist activity - the results will be put up on the Revolver social Media sites the following day.

The haunted premiere screening will run simultaneously with an exclusive screening in the Princes Charles Cinema, in Leicester Square, with a host of celebrity and press audience, who will be able to watch a live stream of exciting events taking place at Pontefract. The live Skype feed will be fed direct from the haunted house, and will include an interactive tour of the house, complete with visuals of the bedrooms, living room and the cellar, and interviews with the cast.

Guests at the London screening event will also be treated to specially created ‘ghost-shaped’ cookies to prepare them for ghouls on screen.

Catch When The Lights Went Out at cinemas nationwide from Sept 14, with previews in Yorkshire from Sept 12.
